Surface-Related Questions

What holds down the court surface? Is it harmful to what lies underneath?

For temporary or semi-permanent courts, an indoor/outdoor two-sided tape is used to secure the surface to the surface. This does not damage the original surface or the courts when removed and this installation method is what makes the courts mobile and reusable for years to come!

What about permanent courts?

For permanent courts, we recommend an indoor/outdoor carpet glue installation. Permanent courts are designed to remain in one place and are a great solution to traditional court installations or resurfacing. Permanent courts can be removed similar to carpet and flooring removal. Because of the installation method, permanent courts are not suitable for reuse.

Do the edges on the court present an issue to players?

No. The courts are thin at 1/8 inch of thickness. The thickness of the court and installation methods ensure there are no issues with the edges. Professionals who tested our courts have agreed!

How should I care for my PickleRoll court?

If there is any need for repair, the PickleRoll self-maintenance kit can repair minor cuts, tears, and scratches. This extends the life of our product beyond the typical lifespan of a pickleball court. We also recommend applying a new topcoat every 3 years to maintain the life of the court.

How heavy is a PickleRoll?

Dink courts start at 50lbs and full size regulation courts start at 450lbs. Each 4x4ft square is approximately 8lbs. If you need more information, feel free to reach out to our team!

How long does the initial set up take?

The PickleRoll setup is determined by the type of PickleRoll and size, installation type, location, climate, and whether the location is indoor or outdoor. Because of the multiple variables, please reach out to our sales team to see what option is best for your needs and scenario!

Can I just roll out the court in a few minutes and play immediately and roll it back up?

Due to the professional surface, size, and installation methods, the mobility of the court is designed to be rolled out (for one-piece roll outs) or laid down (the Ready to Play Squares) one to three days prior to use to allow to court acclimate to the surface and climate. These courts are great for short or long-term events and tournaments, seasonal use, or permanent options as well.

How thick is the PickleRoll surface?

The PickleRoll is approximately 1/8 inch thick. This is the same for both the roll-out court and the squares.
